East Molesey grew up almost overnight once the railway reached Hampton Court in the 1840s, and most of the village is still Victorian and Edwardian: villas and terraces on the roads off Bridge Road and Walton Road, the streets behind the station, and the conservation areas that keep them looking as they should. That means natural slate, plain clay tile, tall brick chimneys, lead valleys and party-wall flashings, and bay window roofs, all of it now well over a century old.
West Molesey is a generation younger, mostly 1930s and post-war houses out towards the reservoirs and Molesey Heath, and Hurst Park, on the site of the old racecourse, is a 1960s estate with the flat roofs and concrete tiles that came with it. We work on all of it, and we know which problems belong to which era.
