Gutters That Take Water Where It Should Go

Thousands of litres of rain land on an average roof every year, and the guttering is the only thing steering all of it away from your walls. Our guttering service covers the lot:

  • New gutter installation: complete systems fitted with the correct fall so water actually reaches the outlet
  • Full replacements: brittle, sagging or patched-up runs stripped off and renewed end to end
  • Leaking joints: failed unions, stop ends and corners resealed or replaced before the drips become damp
  • Downpipes: cracked pipes, loose clips and blocked shoes sorted so water discharges clear of the building
  • Overflow prevention: undersized or badly aligned runs corrected before the next storm finds them out

In New Malden we recently fitted a complete new guttering system alongside a new roof, one of the real, photographed jobs in our work section. Every guttering job comes with a free written quote and our company workmanship guarantee, fully insured throughout.

Why act now

The Real Cost of a Failing Gutter

Guttering is cheap. The damage it prevents is not. Here is what an overflowing or leaking system does to a house, month after month.

Saturated Brickwork

Overflow soaks the same strip of wall in every downpour. Bricks that never dry lose their frost resistance and the pointing starts to fail.

Penetrating Damp Indoors

Once the outer wall is saturated, moisture works through to internal plaster: dark patches, bubbling paint and that tell-tale musty smell.

Rotting Roofline

Water backing up in a blocked or badly aligned gutter sits against the fascia board behind it, quietly rotting the timber that holds the system up.

Green Streaks & Staining

Algae stripes down the render or brickwork are the signature of a joint that has been dripping for a long time. They rarely clean off fully.

Ground & Path Erosion

A broken downpipe delivers every storm to one spot at the base of the wall, washing out joints in paving and soaking the ground beside the foundations.

Winter Ice Hazards

Overflow that freezes across a path or driveway is a slip risk for your family. Fixing the gutter is the fix for the ice as well.

FAQs

Guttering Questions, Answered

Watch the gutter line during rain, or run a hose into it. Drips falling from a joint or bracket, tide marks on the wall beneath a union, or a green algae stripe down the brickwork all point to a failed seal. Joint leaks look minor but they wet the same patch of wall for months, and that is how penetrating damp starts.
Both are possible and we quote for what genuinely makes sense. A sound run with one perished union can be resealed or have the fitting swapped. When the plastic has gone brittle, brackets have failed along the run, or you are chasing a new leak every season, a full replacement is cheaper than repeat visits. You get our honest recommendation in a free written quote.
The wall below takes the punishment: saturated brickwork, penetrating damp inside the house, rotted fascia boards and frost-damaged pointing. Water repeatedly hitting the ground in the same spot can also affect paths and drainage next to the foundations. Gutters are a small system that protects very expensive parts of the building.
Yes. Downpipes are part of the same system and there is little point renewing the gutter runs while a cracked or blocked downpipe keeps dumping water at the base of the wall. We renew pipes, swan necks, shoes and clips as needed and check the water discharges where it should.
Yes. We installed brand-new guttering in New Malden alongside a new roof, so the whole rainwater system matched the new covering from day one. The photos are on our case study page, and it is a good example of how we think: sort the roof and the drainage together, not in pieces.
