Our full re-roof in East Ham, a few miles down the road, was a house of the same age: nearly 100 years old, still on its original roof, with hips, valleys, chimney stacks and a roof window. We stripped it to the rafters and rebuilt it with new membrane, battens, tiles, a dry ridge and dry hips in two days.
