Gutter Cleaning in Windsor & Berkshire

Your gutters collect every drop that runs off the roof. When they are blocked, that water has to go somewhere, and it goes over the front edge and down the wall. That is how a twenty-minute clear-out turns into damp patches inside, rotten fascia boards, stained brickwork and water pooling against the foundations.

Homes near trees fill fastest. Leaves in autumn, pine needles all year round, moss washing down off the tiles and silt from the roof all build up in the gutter and set into a mat that blocks the outlets.

The signs your gutters need clearing:

• Water spilling over the front of the gutter in heavy rain
• Plants or moss growing out of the gutter line
• Green or dark streaks down the wall under the gutter
• A downpipe that stays dry while the gutter above overflows
• Damp patches on an upstairs wall or ceiling near the eaves

A gutter vac on a pole clears the gutter. It does not see the slipped tile above it, the moss holding water against the bottom courses, the cracked mortar on the verge or the fascia board going soft behind the bracket. We do, because we are roofers and we are looking at the whole roof edge from the ladder.

So you get more than a clean gutter. If a joint is leaking, a bracket has snapped or a run has lost its fall so water sits in the middle, we photograph it and tell you. If moss on the roof is what keeps filling the gutters, we tell you that too. Small faults found at the gutter line are the cheapest roof repairs there are.
